One of the greatest aspects of my job, is learning about our customers and how they use our products. While retailers who resell our glitter, embellishments and miniatures are really important to us, it is the designers and the creative process that really adds the sizzle to our business.
Vaillancourt is one of these customer who take our products and use them to help create some of the most beautiful "chaukware figures" around. Being a huge fan of everything vintage and european, I did a double take when I first saw their products. Made in the US? Wow. Take a look!
Some background on Vaillancourt Folk Art (VFA) Vallancourt is one of the last remaining "Made in
America" Christmas manufactures. Founded in 1984, VFA has become a
household name to collectors and Christmas enthusiasts around the world
because of their highly detailed, hand-painted, Chalkware figurines.
Using vintage molds, dating as early as the mid-1800s, their Victorian
decorative art form is done in a small studio in Central Massachusetts.
In addition to their popular chalkware designs, VFA has several other
lines, including, Polish Glass Ornaments, English Creamware, and a more
contemporary Et Cetera line. Vaillancourt Folk Art is a family owned
and operated business that is sold in over 500 stores around the nation
(including Macy's, Nordstroms, and Neiman Marcus), their retail studio
in Sutton, MA, and through their web site valfa.com.
